The Rules

THE RULES!

1: E (her) and R (him) will take it in turns to randomly select a wrapped DVD.
2: The DVD picked must be the DVD watched, no excuses.
3: DVDs given as presents do not have to enter the Roulette as that would be rude!
4: Let the world know what we thought!
5: Decide whether to keep or swap the DVD.
6: NO NEW DVD MAY BE BOUGHT UNTIL ALL ROULLETE DVDs HAVE BEEN WATCHED! (apart from on a few provisos!).

So my wife and I are fully aware that we have what we affectionately call a 'DVD problem'. That is we cant go anywhere that sells DVDs without coming out with a pile of them. We are particularly fond of CEX and charity shops where we can walk out with a pile of DVDs for what we consider a bargain!

As we accumulated more and more DVDs it soon became apparent that we may run into the problems of duplicates. As a result we had the clever idea to catalogue our collection. We used the 'My Movies' app to do this on our Iphone to make sure we can't leave it behind when we go shopping.

What we discovered during our cataloging was 2 fold. 1: We own 380 DVDs and 2: That there are 59 of them that we haven't watched! We buy them at such a rate that we cant watch them before more come into our possession or Netflix distracts us!

As a result of discovering that we have so many still to watch we have decided to set ourselves a little challenge: To not buy anymore DVDs until we have watched ALL of the ones we haven't watched (this is not going to be easy).

To add a little twist to this challenge we have wrapped each DVD up in left over wrapping paper and will randomly select which film we shall watch! We will review each film we watch here on this blog with perspectives from both me and the wife as there are films for both of us as well as those which we may not choose ourselves.

There is only one rule: There is no changing the selected film. Once it is unwrapped it has to be watched!

Come join us on our DVD Roulette adventure!
